JAVA overview

In a very short period of time, Java has become an overnight success. This presentation will focus the origins of Java, its key concepts and how it is different from traditional languages like C and C++. This talk will also discuss some of the new features of Java. The second part of the presentation will discuss the support for Java on Linux and some good references on the internet for getting Java information.

Swing with Java Databases

Linux is an excellent platform to install a state of the art environment to swing with Java. JDBC accesses have been tested on Postgres-6.3.1 via Mozilla (Netscape) and Apache.

This talk will discuss the persistence of Java Objects - something like "Save As Java" - into Java Databases.
