ISDN4Linux
Gratien D'haese - IT3 Consultants
Over the last few years ISDN is winning on popularity in Belgium and is very attractive for dial-in purposes to Internet Service Providers.
ISDN4Linux is the software which binds the ISDN card drivers to the PPP software. Using ISDN instead of the classic modems for home or small office usage on a Linux system is something to consider, but unfortunately not standard available on Linux distributions.
I will guide you through a complete set-up and configuration of ISDN4Linux which will be Linux version (Redhat, Debian, Slackware and SuSe) independent. The configuration files are available here (I4L.tgz, 850Kb).

Linux as PPP/Fax Communication Box (mgetty+sendfax)
Robert Sprockeels - Bits Over Atoms
A Linux box can easily accomplish the task of communications server. Providing dial-in and -out services as well as fax sending and receiving capabilities on your Linux box can be complicated, depending on the software used.
In this talk, I will guide you through the steps necessary to prepare a Linux box as a dial-in server for Linux and Windows machines, and also to provide Fax services (sending/receiving), using the popular mgetty+sendfax package, available with most Linux distributions.
